Before the Beginning
For a long time, I’ve been thinking about something that feels strangely unsolved in our industry.
Finding people in tech should be simple.
But it isn’t.
Whether you’re looking for a backend engineer, a .NET consultant, a JavaScript freelancer, a UX designer, a data specialist, or a cloud expert — the search always happens in fragmented spaces.
If you need a Laravel developer, you look in one place.
If you need someone in Azure, you go somewhere completely different.
A React professional? A different platform again.
Designers and product people? Yet another ecosystem.
Tech is full of incredible talent, but that talent is distributed across:
- niche communities
- Slack groups
- Discord servers
- event platforms
- job boards
- local meetups
- social networks
- private referral circles
And if you try to find people through a large, general-purpose platform like for example LinkedIn… the noise is overwhelming.
At some point, I started asking myself a simple question:
“What would professional discovery look like if it wasn’t tied to a single platform, algorithm, or community?”
What if it were simpler?
What if it were visual?
What if you could see the landscape of tech professionals without jumping between ten different sites?
This question kept following me around.
I don’t have the full answer yet.
But I’ve been exploring it.
Experimenting with the idea.
Building something around it.
Something that’s not a marketplace.
Not a job board.
Not a social network.
Just… a way for people in tech to be visible.
A place where developers, engineers, designers, data people, and other professionals can say:
“I’m here. This is what I do.”
I’m not ready to share the details yet — but this marks the beginning of a new series where I’ll document the journey, the ideas, and the experiments.
More soon.
